Dr. Vicki L. Baker Serves as Panelist and Workshop Facilitator at 2025 Michigan Career Educator & Employer Alliance (MCEEA) Annual Meeting
Okemos, MI — June 2025 — Dr. Vicki L. Baker served as a panelist and workshop facilitator at the Michigan Career Educator & Employer Alliance (MCEEA) Annual Meeting held in Muskegon, Michigan.
Dr. Baker participated in two timely and high-impact sessions focused on the role of artificial intelligence in career development and recruitment:
- Navigating AI in Hiring: Employer Practices, Student Strategies, and Legal Boundaries (with Matt Baxter and Lindsay Raymond)
- Navigating AI in Hiring: Employer Practices, Student Strategies: A Live Demo of an AI Interview Screening Tool (with Matt Baxter)
These sessions explored emerging technologies in recruitment, the implications of AI screening tools on equity and student preparation, and best practices for supporting students through increasingly digital hiring processes.

About Dr. Vicki L. Baker
Recognized as a “Top 100 Visionary” in Education by the Global Forum for Education and Learning (2020–2021), Dr. Vicki L. Baker is a nationally respected expert in leadership development and faculty success. She is the Associate Dean for Strategic Partnerships & Innovation and Chair of the Economics and Management Department at Albion College. Prior to entering academia, she held positions at Harvard Business School (Executive Education) and AK Steel Corporation.
A Fulbright Specialist alumna, Dr. Baker has authored over 117 publications including several influential books, such as Charting Your Path to Full (Rutgers) and Managing Your Academic Career (Routledge). Her research and thought leadership have been featured in outlets such as The Atlantic, Wall Street Journal, Times Higher Education, and Chronicle of Higher Education.
